Decisions made!

Had a really good think and decided that you can think about these things too much!  So – I have decided to change my name back to my maiden name, and I have decided on a business name.  I am now called Mrs.P creative..  I have changed (I think) all of my social media accounts over to the new name and will inform everyone I can think off!

I have transferred my blog over to the new name too – so you can catch up with me on http://mrspcreative.wordpress.com/ – hope to see you there.

Bye bye to Nicki2c

Decisions, decisions …

As 2011 draws nearer I am having to make some quite fundamental decisions in my life, new career, newly divorced etc.  I have decided to change my name back to my maiden name for a start – this was a surprisingly bigger deal than I thought it would be.

Now, I have to decide on my business name as I need to register as self employed soon.  The Nicki2c just ‘came about’ really and the C is now somewhat redundant.  However all my social media accounts and main email address is nicki2c, so it will be a complete pain to change that.  So – what to do??  Mmmmm …

Busy busy

Things are busy busy here – which is great.  I’m currently working part-time for dream on, part-time for Yellow Jelly, both of which I love and I also have a couple of ongoing freelance jobs and as always private projects such as the Greyhound Homer rebranding and newsletter etc.

All I have to do is actually earn a living from it now – and I’ll be a happy bunny!

I’ve set up a Tumblr account – which is a cross between a blog and Twitter – I love it.  The link is to your right or above.

Another catch up

Still getting busier – but good busier!

The Greyhound Homer rebranding is coming along – and I’ve started redesigning the website – with Sally doing the build.  Not sure whether its good or bad to not know the techy side of Dreamweaver.  On the one hand you don’t know what can and can’t be done, but on the other hand the design isn’t restricted by this knowledge!

Scribblehound is still mooching along, but I just haven’t got the time to vectorise the images to produce cards in bulk at the moment – a job for later – maybe!

I am working on two other freelance jobs which are interesting and varied so thats great, but I’m also trying to fit in a personal project – a book, working title – David’s Doings – so watch this space!  Needless to say its to do with greyhounds.

I’m building up a really useful resource of graphic designers that I’m following on Twitter with links to all sorts of interesting and useful stuff.  Here are a couple I got off there.

and while I’m at it a greyhound funny video!

TED talk

Followed this link from Twitter – interesting seminar by Simon Sinek on why some people/companies are more successful than others – not what you might think!.

How the time flys …

… since I last posted!

I’ve been busy busy doing all sorts of interesting things, and here we are – 3 months now since I finished my degree and rapidly heading towards winter.

The way things have worked out I have decided to pursue a ‘portfolio career’, i.e. doing a bit of this and that!  I have a day a week as a designer for a new company which is hugely exciting as I will be involved in all parts of the business and all sorts of activities!  And all set in the heart of the beautiful Suffolk contryside!

Equally exciting is the prospect of joining the team of a design studio based in Ipswich, initially as a freelancer with a hot desk.  That should all hopefully start happening towards the end of October.

In the meantime I am still doing some private work and projects for Greyhound Homer and Scribblehound etc.

Never a dull moment!

PS – I have downloaded some new stuff onto Flickr – see link to the right.

Scribblehound Launch!

I have been working on the ScribbleHound brand, ready for the launch at Reunion Gallery on the 7th September.

Incognito

Ella had a bath today – only the second in five years.  She wasn’t amused and now refuses to leave the house unless in disguise as she can’t do a thing with her fur – its gone all fluffy!
